Our History

Ashley Valley Calvary  Calvary Chapel, Formerly known as Ashley Valley Christian Fellowship, began in October of 1999 as a home fellowship bible study. Following the Calvary Chapel philosophy of ministry, and focusing on the simplicity that is in Christ and His word, the fellowship grew to over thirty people in two months.
Mark Gomez, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Wasatch Front, in Clearfield UT, assisted Pastor Phil with counsel, wisdom and insight that he had gained through years of pastoring.

During this early period in the life of our fellowship, the LORD was moving in such a wonderful way and lives were being changed by Jesus and His word. After only two months of praying and following the Lord’s leading, Pastor Mark recommended that we step out in faith and find a place to have public services. in only a week the Lord led us to a facility and on the first Sunday before Christmas of 1999, our first public worship service and study were held. within three months the fellowship had grown to over Sixty members and the Lord provided a new location where we have been since April of 2000. In 2004, we officially became Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel.

As of 2019, over 500 People call Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel their church home, with an average Sunday morning attendance of over 200 adults, youth and children.
There is way too much to share in terms of what the lord has done with A.V. Calvary over during our history, but he has blessed us beyond our ability to comprehend.  Not with material blessing, although He has unfailingly met every need in His timing, but more importantly, He has blessed us with His presence and as we have studied His word consistently and in context we have seen so many lives changed. To this day, the Lord is using our fellowship to reach the lost and to educate and equip disciples through the Holy Spirit’s leading and the Living Word of God.

WE HAVE A CREED AT A.V. CALVARY AND THAT IS:

“IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!”

We know with certainty that it’s by His leading alone that we are able to be about the Father’s business. We declare our absolute dependence upon the Lord as well as our devotion, commitment and focus. Our desire is to walk with Jesus step by step. Not behind nor in front of Him, but side by side as He leads us on this incredible journey and adventure of living for him as he guides and equips us through His unfailing grace.

Our Mission

TO GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR
LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
II PETER 3:18

Our Values

“IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!!!”

Our Vision

TO WALK WITH JESUS. NOT AHEAD OF HIM, NOR BEHIND HIM, BUT WITH HIM STEP BY STEP AS HE DIRECTS US ON THIS AWESOME ADVENTURE OF LIVING FOR HIM BY HIS GRACE.

Our Purpose

TO KNOW JESUS AND MAKE HIM KNOWN.

What We Believe

We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. Old and New Testaments – are the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe in one God existing in three separate persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His death on the cross, was bodily resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, & ascended to the right hand of God the Father. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He poured out His Spirit upon the believers in Jerusalem, enabling them to fulfill His command to preach the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by believers today. We believe that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Faith

Our ministry emphasizes the exposition of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept. We also seek to teach God’s Word in such a way that its message can be applied to an individual’s life.In our service, we focus on a personal relationship with God through worship, prayer and in the teaching of the Word of God. We teach both expositionally (going through the Scripture line by line, studying and analyzing) and topically (building the message around a particular Scripture). We do not allow speaking in tongues during services, nor prophecy while a Bible study is in progress because we do not believe that the Holy Spirit would interrupt Himself.
